NEPTUN Fix G40-HV
Antibiotic-Loaded Bone Cement for Endoprosthetics
NEPTUN Fix G40-HV is a high-viscosity, antibiotic-loaded bone cement for cemented endoprosthetic procedures. Developed for daily surgical use, it offers reliable handling characteristics and contributes to secure implant fixation. The added Gentamicin reduces the risk of bacterial colonisation in the area around the prosthesis, especially in the early postoperative phase.
Composition
Polymer:
- Polymethylmethacrylate – 84.3%
- Benzoyl peroxide – 2.4%
- Barium sulfate – 9.6%
-
Gentamicin sulfate – 3.8%
(corresponding to 1 g pure Gentamicin)
Monomer:
- Methylmethacrylate – 84.4%
- Butylmethacrylate – 13.2%
- N,N-Dimethyl-p-toluidine – 2.4%
- Hydroquinone – 20 ppm
Processing & Curing Under Surgical Conditions
NEPTUN Fix G40-HV is suitable for manual or mechanical vacuum mixing. The optimal processing temperature is between 18 and 25 °C. Its standardised temperature-time profile provides the surgical team with a clear working window defining the mixing, waiting, application, and curing phases. The high viscosity ensures that the cement can be easily shaped and remains dimensionally stable, even in complex defects or revisions procedures.
