NEPTUN Fix G40-HV
Antibiotic-Loaded Bone Cement for Endoprosthetics
NEPTUN Fix G40-HV is a high-viscosity, antibiotic-loaded bone cement for cemented endoprosthetic procedures. Developed for daily surgical use, it offers reliable handling characteristics. The bone cement contains gentamicin as an antibiotic agent.
Composition
Polymer:
- Polymethylmethacrylate – 84.3%
- Benzoyl peroxide – 2.4%
- Barium sulfate – 9.6%
-
Gentamicin sulfate – 3.8%
(corresponding to 1 g pure Gentamicin)
Monomer:
- Methylmethacrylate – 84.4%
- Butylmethacrylate – 13.2%
- N,N-Dimethyl-p-toluidine – 2.4%

Processing & Curing Under Surgical Conditions
NEPTUN Fix G40-HV is suitable for manual or mechanical vacuum mixing. The optimal processing temperature is between 18 and 25 °C. Its standardised temperature-time profile provides the surgical team with a clear working window defining the mixing, waiting, application, and curing phases. The high viscosity supports good shaping properties of the cement during handling.
